Two workers stole tens of thousands of dollars from a tax-payer funded Bronx non-profit for shopping sprees and to fly a pair of city pols to Puerto Rico, prosecutors announced Wednesday.
The employees funded Caribbean trips for Assemblywoman Carmen Arroyo and her daughter, City Councilwoman Maria del Carmen Arroyo in 2007 and 2008, a criminal complaint charged.
They also used the money - meant to help manage low-income apartments - to install flooring in Assemblywoman Arroyo's district office. |
