Description | Milwaukee--Wisconsin now has more confirmed cases of swine flu than any other state in the U.S.
The number of cases skyrocketed during the last week. On May 8th, Wisconsin had 298 confirmed cases of swine flu. By May 15th, the stat had 655 cases, with a huge majority of those in the City of Milwaukee.
Dr. Michael Chusid says the state's superior testing accounts for the big jump. Chusid explains that the lab associated with the Medical College is more advanced than any site other than the CDC. Last week, the CDC told Wisconsin, it could confirm swine flu cases on it's own, rather than sending them onto the national lab. |
