Description | CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - That sound in Governor John Lynch's reception room is the phone ringing, constantly, as people continue calling to plead with him to either sign or reject a bill legalizing gay marriage in New Hampshire.
The bill was approved by the House on Wednesday, and is being reviewed before being sent to the governor. Lynch's spokesman, Colin Manning, said the governor's office has no idea how long that might take.
When it arrives, the governor will have five days to sign it, veto it or decide to let it become law without his signature. |
