Description | ALBANY — Assemblyman Brian Kolb of the Finger Lakes region was picked today to lead the Assembly Republican minority, succeeding Assemblyman James Tedisco who is running for Congress.
Kolb, of Canandaigua, Ontario County, was unanimously selected for the post by the 41-member Republican conference. Democrats hold a 109-41 seat majority in the Assembly.

Kolb succeeds Tedisco of Schenectady, who left the position to focus on the vote-counting in his congressional bid. He's currently in a dead heat against Democrat Scott Murphy in a House seat that runs from the North County to Dutchess County.
