DescriptionThose who know or follow Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz know this: she's no shrinking violet. She's rascally, she's opinionated, she's passionate. She has a good sense of humor and a fun-side to her. Once, when it snowed in Washington, she went door to door in the Capitol asking people if they wanted to go sledding with her. (She is Floridian after all.) Another time, riffing off her fun side, Rep. Zach Wamp "honored" her by bringing in "Little Debbie" snacks into a committee hearing. ("This is in honor of "Big Debbie" - clearly he meant personality as she's diminutive herself.) She laughed by saying their honeymoon was over and they may need "counseling."

And she doesn't back down from a fight. She once got into it on the House floor with Rep. Heath Shuler - and former NFL'er mind you - about immigration. In short, she's not afraid. Of anything.

So the news that she has "successfully battled breast cancer" was surprising and not for entirely different reasons. Surprising because she kept it a secret. Not surprising because as stated earlier, she's down for a fight.
