| Description | Former Republican U.S. Sen. Jim Talent said Tuesday he won't bid for a political comeback by running in Missouri's open Senate race in 2010.
Republican Sen. Kit Bond said last month he will not seek re-election to a fifth term.
Talent served four years in the Senate before losing in 2006 to Democrat Claire McCaskill. His statement issued through the Missouri Republican Party cited party unity as one reason he would not run. |
