DescriptionHamilton Centre MPP Andrea Horwath has landed a big NDP name to help her leadership bid.

The colourful Peter Kormos, veteran MPP for Welland, announced yesterday he was backing Horwath in her quest to replace Howard Hampton at the March 6-8 leadership convention in Hamilton.

Horwath, in the midst of what she calls a "30 stops in 20 days" tour of the province, is facing off against Timmins-James Bay MPP Gilles Bisson, Beaches-East York MPP Michael Prue and Toronto-Danforth MPP Peter Tabuns (who grew up in Hamilton).

Having Kormos on board might take some of the sting of not being backed by her city mate, Hamilton East-Stoney Creek MPP Paul Miller. He is supporting Prue.
