| Description | The quiet campaign to replace the leader of B.C.'s NDP finally made noise Thursday with key endorsements for one of the six candidates vying for the job.
Carole James received support from Jenny Kwan, one of the party's two provincial elected members. Federal NDP MPs Svend Robinson and Libby Davies are also backing James, saying she is the best person to rebuild the provincial party. The six candidates have spent the last months criss-crossing the province in a series of debates.
But although the party has been in power for 10 of the last 12 years, the race to replace outgoing leader and longtime cabinet minister Joy MacPhail attracted no big names and even less attention. |
