City Manager Heacock stopped on DWI in Lee's Summit

Description | Independence City Manager Robert Heacock was charged early Tuesday morning in Lee’s Summit with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
Lee’s Summit Police Sgt. Mike Childs said Heacock was stopped close to 1:45 a.m. in the 200 block of Southeast Douglas Road in the city’s downtown area.
Heacock failed a breathalyzer test, Childs said, but would not comment on why Heacock was stopped. Childs added Heacock posted a $300 bond after being arrested.
In a statement released to The Examiner Tuesday evening, Heacock aknowledged the incident and said his blood alcohol level registered an .09. In Missouri, a driver is considered legally drunk with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher.
Heacock said he has been adivised by attorneys not to comment about the case. |
