Former first lady Laura Bush paid a brief visit to Dallas to check on renovations at the Preston Hollow home she and the former president will live in.
She kept a low profile while in town and was reportedly scheduled to leave by the weekend.
The Bushes have been staying at their Crawford ranch since leaving Washington after the inauguration of President Barack Obama.
In Preston Hollow this afternoon, Secret Service agents and Dallas police SUVs blocked the entrance to Daria Drive, the road that leads to the Bushes’ recently-purchased home on Daria Place.
One agent said they are only in place when the Bushes “are in residence.”
Only people who live on the street and their guests were being allowed onto the street.
The neighborhood was quiet — no residents could be seen driving in and out or walking outside. |
