Description | NBC news.
"An intern of Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter has been found dead Friday, according to Philadelphia Police.
Police found the body of 22-year-old Kambili Moukwa in a vacant lot near Festival Pier at Spring Garden Street and Delaware Avenue in Northern Liberties.
Moukwa, a communications intern with the mayor's office, was a student at the University of Pennsylvania. He was working on a Ph.D. in Government and Politics.
Lt. Frank Vanore said Moukwa was reported missing to University of Pennsylvania Police after he became separated from his friends at the Z-Bar on New Year’s Eve.
Mayor Nutter said the man was making real contributions to the government.
“I was saddened to learn of Kam’s death. He was a regular face around the Mayor’s Office and in a very short time, he became a part of our team,” said Mayor Michael Nutter.
Authorities said there are no signs of trauma to the man’s body, but he may have frozen to death.
An autopsy will be performed to confirm the exact cause of death." |
