DescriptionNEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- I am happy to report that President-elect Barack Obama has so far said and done all the right things so far in his dealings with the media.

He has pledged to have an open administration and hold press conferences on a frequent basis in an effort to keep the American people as well-informed as possible about the administration's progress in easing the economic fiasco and removing troops from Iraq and Afghanistan.

But the burning question among the Beltway journalists is whether Obama can follow through on his lofty promises -- or will the weight of the job grind him down?
