Description | Iowa’s First Lady is paying a $50 fine for her smoking faux pas.
Mari Culver was spotted earlier this week smoking a cigarette in a state vehicle. That’s illegal under a law signed by her husband, Iowa Gov. Chet Culver, in April. The law banned smoking in most workplaces – including company owned vehicles.
Culver spokesman Phil Roeder says the First Lady asked to be issued a citation because she does not expect to be treated differently than anyone.
The citation was issued on Friday and Culver immediately paid the $50 fine. |
