DescriptionOutgoing Republican Congressman Chris Shays of Connecticut, who lost his bid for a twelfth term this week to Democrat Jim Himes, is eyeing a role within President-elect Barack Obama’s administration.

Shays, a moderate who had been the last remaining Republican House member in New England, said he is interested in directing the Peace Corps, a group Obama has said he'd like to be part a push to spur civic involvement.
