Description | Democrat U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu has picked up backing for her re-election bid from Dave Treen, Louisiana's first Republican governor since Reconstruction.
Treen today endorsed Landrieu in the U.S. Senate race over Republican state Treasurer John Kennedy.
Treen said he believes Landrieu works with both parties to get things done and is respected by both Republican and Democratic senators.
With Republican David Vitter in Louisiana's other U.S. Senate seat, Treen said, it is advantageous to have representation in both parties.
The Senate election is next Tuesday. |
