Description | CHICO -- Though a political forum Thursday was mostly polite, Democratic congressional candidate Jeff Morris tossed a few barbs at his opponent, Rep. Wally Herger, R-Chico.
Morris of Weaverville, in Trinity County, accused Herger of using divisive language and of failing to communicate adequately with constituents.
Asked a question about Klamath basin water problems, Herger took to task those he called "radical environmentalists."
Morris responded, saying he couldn't believe Herger would use such an insulting term. If the state's environmental and economic problems are to be solved, it won't be done by insulting environmentalists, he said. |
