Description | SPRINGFIELD -- Frustrated by moves in the General Assembly this week to restore more than $130 million that he had cut from the state's budget, Gov. Rod Blagojevich on Thursday said legislators were spending taxpayer dollars like "drunken sailors" and declared he was ready to wage war.
Blagojevich came out swinging in the third day of the fall veto session after legislators in the House and Senate routinely moved toward restoring spending that the governor had vetoed. None of the overrides has been considered by both chambers, however. |
