If there was any mystery about whether Joe Lieberman would speak to the Republican convention next month, this invitation about ends it.
The Connecticut senator's wife, Hadassah, will appear as a special guest at a breast cancer fundraiser being staged by Neiman Marcus and the Republican Jewish Coalition National Women's Committee on the first day of festivities in the Twin Cities.
She would almost certainly not appear at such a function were her husband not taking part in the convention that week.
The benefit is a combination luncheon, fashion show and silent auction with proceeds going to the Susan G, Komen for the Cure foundation.
Asked earlier this month on "Meet the Press" whether he was planning to appear in St. Paul, Lieberman wouldn't say — but he did hint at what he would discuss were he to make the trek. |
