ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- Long Island Sen. Dean Skelos is expected to be elected leader of the Republican majority in the state Senate, two New York Republicans said Tuesday.

The Senate GOP was scheduled to meet behind closed doors at 10 a.m. to vote on a new leader, one day after Sen. Joseph Bruno announced he would not seek re-election.
