President Bush and wife Laura have embraced Republican John McCain in his White House run. Not so, for their daughter, Jenna Bush, who dropped hints she may not toe the family line in this year's voting.

Appearing Wednesday night with her mother on Larry King's CNN talk show, Jenna begged off a question of whether Mr. McCain is her pick for president.

After Laura Bush repeated her endorsement of Mr. McCain, the talk show host asked the first lady whether she had a favorite among the Democrats, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama.

"My favorite is the Republican," she said.

Turning to Jenna, Mr. King said, "Yours, too, I would imagine.”

"I don't know,” Jenna said, prompting a quick "A-ha” from Mr. King.

Asked whether she was open to the others, she said, "Yes, of course. I mean, who isn't open to learning about the candidates? But, I mean, and I'm sure everybody is like that. But I really – I honestly have been too busy with books to really pay that much attention."
