Tim Bivins of Dixon was selected Friday to replace Todd Siebens as state senator from the 45th District.
Sen. Siebens, a Republican from Geneseo, retired.
Republican county chairmen from throughout the district elected Mr. Bivins in a meeting Friday morning at the old Lee County courthouse. He will assume his duties Monday.
The 45th District includes all or part of Carroll, Henry, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside and Winnebago counties. |
