Description | It's all but official now: It's Katz vs. Street II.
Republican attorney George Bochetto said yesterday he won't run for mayor next year, and is instead urging the party's 1999 candidate Sam Katz to take on Mayor Street again.
"It won't be a cakewalk, but I think Sam can win the race if he decides to do it," Bochetto sad in an interview yesterday. "It will be a tough race and will require enormous effort, and I'd like to be a part of it."
Meanwhile, Katz has agreed to appear before the Republican city committee's selection committee tomorrow, which GOP counsel Michael Meehan said will "probably" recommend a candidate.
