DescriptionA couple weeks ago I reported Dr. Buddy Witherspoon would be resigning from his position as RNC Committeeman to run against Sen. Lindsey Graham. If you didn’t believe me, here is a letter Dr. Witherspoon sent to members of the SCGOP Executive Committee:

Novmeber 17, 2007

Dear [Omitted],

I am both honored and humbled to have served as your Republican National Committeeman for three terms representing the great state of South Carolina on the national level.

This letter is to inform you that I will be resigning as your Republican National Committeeman soon so as to become a candidate for the U.S. Senate running in the Republican primary on June 10, 2008.

I would be honored to have your continued support for my candidacy and to from your wisdom and insight in anything you might share with me.

The heart and should of America continues to be under attack relentlessly, and I thank you for your leadership and commitment to stand for the principles which our founding fathers envisioned and forged in that great document, the Constitution of the United States of America. Our great President Ronald Reagan said it best, “Freedom is never more than one generation from extinction.”

Thank you again for all that you do and if I can ever be of assistance to you please do not hesitate to call.

Kindest regards,

Walter P, “Buddy” Witherspoon, Jr.
