Description | About six weeks ago, a letter to the editor from former Frederick Mayor Jennifer Dougherty was published in The Frederick News-Post.
In it, she criticized U.S. Rep. Roscoe Bartlett, a Republican who represents the Sixth District, for his vote opposing the expansion of the federal State Children's Health Insurance Program.
"Congressman Roscoe Bartlett chose partisan politics and sticking with President George Bush to a heartless level when he voted against the SCHIP legislation," she wrote. "Mr. Bartlett says he opposes the SCHIP legislation because it is too expensive. If he was one of the 47 million Americans without health insurance, would it be worth it then? I'd like Mr. Bartlett to tell us how much we pay for his health care." |
