Description | "VINELAND -- By Assemblyman Nicholas Asselta's measure, he is one of a kind in the state Legislature: He's 52 and doesn't hold any other job outside of the Statehouse.
"There are other full-time legislators who are retired (from other work), but my age makes me an oddity," said Asselta, who is years away from the average retirement age of people working in the private sector.
In the more than eight years that Asselta, R-Cumberland, has held elected office, he's only worked at another job once: For a year in the late 1990s, he was on the payroll at Bellmawr-based Evergreen Printing and Publishing Co. Inc. as a media consultant.
He left when he couldn't give 100 percent to the job, Asselta said."
