Description | "Like most of his political bedfellows, Assemblyman Joseph Azzolina, R-Monmouth, has a lot of jobs on his resume.
Azzolina is president of a chain of supermarkets across Monmouth and Ocean counties, a retired Navy reserves captain and has held statewide office in each of the last five decades.
There's one title, though, Azzolina has never held: dual office holder.
And the Middletown resident said he will push a proposal next year to ban legislators from simultaneously holding a second elected office. The bill also would prohibit legislators from simultaneously sitting on appointed bodies like planning boards, municipal utilities authorities or sewerage commissions."
