BOSTON -- The Legislature is scheduled to meet in constitutional convention Thursday with a vote looming on an amendment to outlaw gay marriage in Massachusetts.

But that vote could be delayed if backers of same-sex marriage are unable to sway enough votes to defeat the amendment.
