Sen. Ben Nelson said Friday he’s determined to improve military veterans health care services.
“Help is on the way,” Nelson pledged in a telephone interview from Washington.
The system of ongoing services has been overwhelmed by “too many patients, too few doctors and too few facilities,” Nelson said.
And all of that is complicated by lengthy waits, higher fees, fewer options and burdensome travel requirements, he said.
“Paying more and waiting longer for less care represents a breach of faith with our veterans,” Nelson said. |
