Description | "Republican mayoral candidate Sam Katz yesterday distanced himself from a campaign mailing by the Republican City Committee that some have suggested has racial overtones.
"I think that the mailing was not the message of my campaign," Katz said. "We're trying to bring people together, and I think there are ways to interpret that mailing that would be considered a divisive piece of literature."
The mailing, which was sent out earlier this month, urged voters to "take back Philly" by voting for Katz."
