| Description | There is now also a Populist party in Great Britain.
The Populist Party is a new party which is opposed to the European Union and to the trends towards globalism and corporatism. The Populists believe economic independence to be as important as political national independence
The Party is led by Russell White, who has written "Populist Principles" upon which populist policy is based. Mr White, who is also the founder of the Party believes that full employment can be achieved by protecting British industry against foreign competition through import taxation and restoration of manufacturing industry.
This means rejecting the GATT (WTO) and MAI Treaties.
