DescriptionAllentown Morning Call article.

An excerpt...
"In New Jersey, the use of seatbelts is not a suggestion. It is the law, and for most people, using them is habitual. Gov. Corzine should be embarrassed that, having given lip service in support of seat belts as chief executive, he couldn't personally be bothered. Last year, more than 271,000 people were issued citations for violating the state's Click-It or Ticket law. This year, add one Jon Corzine to the list.

If this scenario sounds familiar, it is because Gov. Ed Rendell was in a similar situation in 2004. His vehicles, also driven by state troopers, went over 100 mph on nine occasions. The public laughed it off. Gov. Corzine's crash shows there was nothing funny about it.

Gov. Rendell has since stated that he would stop speeding, and if that sticks, he is lucky to have learned without suffering injuries like Gov. Corzine's. We hope so. Highway-macho chief executives are dangers not only to themselves, but to the motoring public, too."
