|Description||TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — The federal investigation into how the New Jersey budget has been developed has extended to a New Jersey congressman who was once one of state's leading politicians. |
Federal prosecutors have subpoenaed state budget documents from West New York during the time when Democratic U.S. Rep. Albio Sires was mayor and Assembly speaker, the city attorney told The Associated Press on Wednesday.
The subpoena seeks documents related to grants placed into the state budget without public review dating back to January 2004, said Daniel Horgan, the city's attorney.
