Evansville IN (AP) - Auditors from the General Accounting Office were expected to begin work in the last county where votes remain to be recounted in the disputed election to Indiana's Eighth District seat in Congress.

Rick McIntyre, a Republican, was one vote ahead of Frank McCloskey, a Democrat. State officials certified that McIntyre had won the seat by 34 votes and a recount conducted by the state found him the winner by 418 votes. But the House, controlled by Democrats, refused to seat him.
