| Description | From one former first lady to another, Nancy Reagan delivered birthday greetings and a get-well-soon message to Betty Ford, who is recovering from unspecified surgery.
Ford, who turns 89 on Sunday, received the handwritten birthday greeting from President Reagan's widow in a get-well card, Reagan chief of staff Joanne Drake told The Associated Press.
Ford was “recovering well” at Eisenhower Medical Center following surgery, her office said in a statement released earlier this week.
“No further releases or updates are anticipated for several days,” according to the three-sentence statement.
Meanwhile, get-well cards, birthday greetings and Easter messages continue to arrive from around the country.
