Gov. Mike Rounds' stay in the White House leads to speculation about possible run for senate seat in 2008

When Gov. Mike Rounds goes to Washington, that usually sets tongues wagging.
And when he overnights with his wife at the White House, that increases political speculation.
So what is the situation here?
Mitch Krebs, the governor's press secretary, gave Rounds my questions.
The answer.
"Yes, the governor and first lady did stay at the White House during the National Governor's Association meetings," Krebs said.
And was the Senate race discussed?
"He said they (Rounds and President Bush) 'talked about a lot of things,' " Krebs said.
