Kentucky needs a governor who isn't a career politician, says Democratic Party candidate Bruce Lunsford. And, speaking at a gubernatorial forum at Campbellsville University Thursday, Lunsford said he's the man for the job.
"I really do want to give back to the state of Kentucky," Lunsford said. "We need an outsider [with new ideas]."
As Secretary of Commerce under Gov. John Y. Brown's administration in the early 1980s, Lunsford learned that public service was the most important thing he could do.
However, Lunsford took the advice of others early on and chose to pursue his own entrepreneurial interests before coming back to public service. An independently wealthy governor, friends told him, would make decisions in the best interest for Kentucky.
Now, along with running mate Greg Stumbo, Lunsford said he is ready to help turn things around in Kentucky. |
