| Description | Multiple sources are now confirming the death of a Pictou County soldier stationed in Afghanistan.
Cpl. Kevin Megeney, 25, was shot through the chest and left lung in what's believed to be a "friendly fire" incident, said his uncle, George Megeney.
George Megeney said the family was informed of the incident around 10 a.m. this morning.
Kevin Megeney is a Stellarton resident and went to Afghanistan in the fall as a volunteer with the Nova Scotia Highlanders Militia.
He is the son of Dexter and Karen Megeney of Stellarton. |
