Description | Every year parade goers bring their Mardi Gras spirit to launch the carnival, but with any big celebration, there are laws. Shreveport Police are out to make sure the crowd doesn't get too out of hand. They're also enforcing a list of rules specific to the parade route, including no glass bottles and no pets. One law that's causing a lot of buzz among patriots. It bans the waiving of flags and banners of any kind -- including Old Glory.
The law also prohibits the display of flags and logos on clothing and objects. Meaning no lawn chairs, no sweaters and no car decals along parade routes.
