Description | "Philadelphia's carpenters' union, whose members build everything from sports stadiums to convenience stores, yesterday became the latest union to take a hand in demolishing the unanimous labor support that helped Mayor Street win election four years ago.
At an afternoon rally in the carpenters' union's Spring Garden Street headquarters, longtime union leader Ed Coryell Sr. endorsed Republican nominee Sam Katz. Coryell said that Street had "failed the working men and women of Philadelphia.""
