Description | Syracuse City Auditor Phil LaTessa will be among 18 candidates interviewed Tuesday in Albany for the state comptroller post vacated by Alan Hevesi.
LaTessa submitted the required application materials by Friday's deadline, and is scheduled to be interviewed by a joint Assembly and Senate committee next week, said Mark Hansen, a spokesman for senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno.
"I would be honored to represent all New Yorkers in this critically important statewide position," said LaTessa, a Democrat who was elected city auditor in 2003. "At this time, I intend to appear next week in front of the interview panel."
