Description | "Republican mayoral candidate Sam Katz captured a prize from organized labor yesterday with the endorsement of Teamsters Joint Council 53, representing 60,000 workers.
It is the second major union endorsement for Katz - he was backed recently by city firefighters - in his rematch with Mayor Street. In 1999, Katz had no union endorsements. The Teamsters, who supported Democratic Gov. Rendell last year, did not endorse either candidate in the mayor's race four years ago."
