Description | As we also noted last week, the rumor mill is rife with speculation about who’s gonna duke it out for John Kerry’s Senate seat if he inflicts a second presidential candidacy on us. Well, the field of potential candidates has widened, according to a post on the national political blog Political Insider. A Dec. 1 post penned by one Drew Pritt (an openly gay Arkansas Democrat, perennial candidate and a serial blog poster who seems to annoy quite a few folks in the blogosphere) claims that Boston Mayor Tom Menino “is rumored to be making calls about a possible bid,” and there are a crop of Republicans “who may not be as viable but interested none the less [sic.].” And who’s the “most prominent” among potential GOP contenders? “Patrick Guerriero, a former Mayor and State Senator, who briefly ran for lieutenant governor and State Senator and is Executive Director of the Log Cabin Republicans.” |
