Description | As the Dec. 9 runoff in Louisiana approaches, challenger State Rep. Karen Carter is outpacing Rep. William Jefferson when it comes to fund-raising, but appears to have less money to spend.
According to the latest filings at Congressional Quarterly’s PoliticalMoneyLine, Carter raised $370,241 from Oct. 19 through Nov. 19, compared with $72,485 raised by Jefferson, who is under FBI investigation for bribery. But as of the 19th, Jefferson had $177,247 cash on hand, while Carter had $58,420. |
