Description | CARACAS, Venezuela (Reuters) - Venezuelan opposition candidate Manuel Rosales on Monday warned that President Hugo Chavez could rig the December 3 election, his comments coming after repeated government accusations that Rosales will cry fraud if Chavez is re-elected.
Rosales only recently united an opposition movement heavily fractured after accusations of electoral fraud in 2004 and a massive boycott of legislative elections in 2005 that ultimately expanded the power of the highly popular Chavez.
"We have to take good care of our votes, because maybe if we aren't aware, trained and prepared they could make our votes disappear ... at one voting center or at many," Rosales said during a televised meeting. |
