Description | Republican Gov. Mark Sanford holds a commanding lead over Democratic challenger Tommy Moore in Clemson University's Palmetto Poll that was released Thursday.
It showed Sanford with a 27-point bulge, 57-31 percent. The independent poll of 500 likely voters in the Nov. 7 election has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points and was conducted Oct. 17 through Wednesday.
Karen Gutmann, Moore's spokeswoman, said the Palmetto Poll is out of step with the campaign's polling. |
