Attorney: Arizona state treasurer accepts plea agreement

| Description | PHOENIX (AP) - State Treasurer David Petersen will accept a plea agreement offered by prosecutors and plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge to resolve a monthslong criminal investigation, his lawyer said Thursday.
Legal documents released in February had indicated that an attorney general's criminal investigation of Petersen centered on allegations of fraud, theft and conflict of interest.
However, Petersen attorney Craig Henley said the only charge to be filed against Petersen will be a single misdemeanor count of knowingly filing a false or incomplete financial disclosure statement. |
