Description | TALLAHASSEE — Alex Sink twinkles when she speaks, her Southern twang and diminutive stature more evocative of a schoolteacher than a former president of Florida's largest bank.
Tom Lee is soft-spoken but exudes power - in his physical stature and politically as the president of the Florida Senate.
She's a long-time banking executive who is a Democrat. He's a former Democrat who switched to the Republican Party shortly before running for the Senate 10 years ago. They are running for the Florida Cabinet position of chief financial officer on a campaign platform of fiscal conservatism and consumer advocacy.
With many of their political positions much the same, the determining difference in the Nov. 7 election may come down to their parties and their personalities. |
