| Description | Democratic congressional candidate Phil Kellam pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman in 1978, when he was a college student in North Carolina, according to a court record posted Thursday on a local conservative Web site.
But Kellam - the Virginia Beach commissioner of the revenue who's challenging Republican Rep. Thelma Drake of Norfolk - says he only yelled at the woman and had no physical contact with her, campaign spokesman Drew Lankford said. |
