State Sen. Wayne Bryant, chairman of the powerful Budget and Appropriations Committee, pressured the state's medical university to create a no-show job that essentially allowed him to "lobby himself" for taxpayer funds, according to two sources who have reviewed the findings of a federal monitor.
The monitor's report, which will be released tomorrow, says the $38,220-a-year job did not exist before Bryant was put on the payroll at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, according to the sources. |
