WASHINGTON – Retired Army Maj. Gen. Kathryn George Frost, the wife of former U.S. Rep. Martin Frost, D-Dallas, died Friday after a four-year battle with breast cancer.
Gen. Frost, who commanded the Army and Air Force Exchange Service in Dallas during her final service assignment, was 57. The AAFES is an $8 billion operation that provides retail goods to U.S. troops worldwide.
"She was a highly accomplished Army officer,” Mr. Frost said. "She was the senior woman in the Army on active duty when she retired in April of 2005.” |
